Continue to provide offline installer executables
From posts I've seen there are a lot of... not tech savvy people... not knowing what these installer files are. Sometimes we forget the average PC gamer, with all this automation, doesn't really have to know much to play games on something like Steam. Galaxy is their attempt to make it easier for these normies to play games through their platform (and any linked platform) to gain more users and potential buyers. It makes sense. I think we'll alw

https://lovelanguagetest.org/
I hate to admit, but i am not very happy with the way CDPR is nowadays acting, yet i am not sure how much of "force" they still hold toward GoG. The issue is that, as soon as a company got a certain size... such as CDPR, they got less interest into being customer friendly. Their main focus is to provide their shareholders with sufficient profit, so they keep "investing", which is their main source of income. The rest of it is customer-support, and because the customers can be manipulated you simply need to know "how to manipulate them", all good... I really worry that this capitalistic system may someday break to much bones. The majority will even admire it... because they can not feel themself properly and will need a broken bone a month... borderline-syndrome from the masses, i believe. Anyway, i strongly recommend not to destroy the installers, because even worse than to less broken bones is to lose your heart... and soul.
@RedRubio CDPR themselves are a threat to our offline way of life with their Galaxy-Only "My Rewards" and now Twitch Drops and other junk.
Access to these files is essential for Linux gamers, as long as they'll not port Galaxy to Linux...
You read too much into "backup". They're called backup installers so we can back them up. Would you prefer to archive a game that's already installed and have to manually copy registry keys and such, or would you prefer to use an installer that handles that for you?
If Galaxy is required to download these offline installers, that would be the end. Galaxy is their way of trying to get modern gamers to switch over. But there would be no defense for requiring Galaxy at any point from purchase to download. I think we'll always have these files to download, they bury them for the newbies so they don't get confused IMO lol
I mean, not sure that's a "threat" on our offline way of life - BUT if it is, then yes, shouldn't even be a doubt: it's one of the main reasons I pick GOG over the rest.
Yes!
Should be #1 Priority and the marketing should reflect this.
